TL Chapman and son Ltd was established in 1903 by Thomas Lee Chapman, it was then passed on to his son Stanley Howard Chapman and the values and high standards are still upheld by the current owner Peter John Chapman.

The photo below was taken around 1920, it shows the original premises of the business, the sign at the door reads 'T Chapman Joiner and undertaker'. The woman at the door is Eva Chapman, the wife of Thomas Lee Chapman. They lived at 17 Auborough Street from which he started the business before moving next door to 19-21 Auborough Street as the company grew and larger premises were needed. Peter Chapman, the current owner was born at number 19, the address from which the company still operates.
